10 Reasons Your Business Doesn’t Have a Website

There are many reasons companies put off building or working on their website.  Here are a few (10) that I’ve heard plenty of times.

Don’t feel bad if you’ve said them, just read on and see if maybe I can help you make some progress.

Even if you are embarrassed by your first try at a website you’ve learned things most people just don’t understand.  It’s hard to be an expert without putting in the time and making the mistakes that teach you experience.

Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted.

1. It costs too much.
2. It doesn’t look good on my phone.
3. I’ve tried it before and wasn’t happy with the results.
4. It takes too long to develop.
5. I’m not a writer.
6. I’m not a graphics person or photographer.
7. I’m worried it’ll go down.
8. Email is a pain and never seems to work right.

It costs too much.

Sure – we’ve all heard of companies who have spent $10,000 on a single page; Maybe we’ve been one. The fact is, a webpage can cost anywhere from $1500 to $150,000 or more. Cost is relative to how much work, or mis-management goes into the site. Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted.  Most companies have tried in some fashion to get an Internet presence of some sort.  That experience taught you things you can’t learn any other way and because of that you are a more informed customer.  Don’t let that experience go to waste if you want to get back on the Internet (or upgrade from your first version).

It takes too long to develop.

A month is about the average time it takes to build a quality website.  If you had started working with me 30 days ago, you’d be done by now.

I’m not a writer.
